EternityOn lock and key my jailer slept (accursed to stillness lest I see a star). Cursed too, I could not see but had to hear to find one.Eternity
I sat alone no food, no sleep, (only spirits to dull the senses) as the stars continued to creep.
Once I heard a star but thought it was a knock. I was wrong, it was a star. A door is no window so I did not see...
Now he sleeps forever and I am left alone. The stars are dead the shutters closed, the curse is left to roam.

that gathers no heat
a voice spoke up
with silence.
The heads all turned
but saw nothing
so went back to mindless prattle.
Later it was a cry,
the same small voice
raised
(in fear)
but still they saw nothing
and still they continued.
Finally,
a scream.
This time they stopped.
This time they stared.
This time they saw nothing
for what it was.
They killed it
lest it kill them first.
